Tuition

Who do we tutor?

We have tutors available for all ages, from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. We can help students feel more confident in their subject or specifically prepare them for examinations. Mature students who have had a break from education, but now need to retake a qualification, frequently use our tutoring services, and are made to feel very welcome, with many positive outcomes.

When do lessons take place?

Lessons normally take place weekly, for each subject being tutored during term time. They can take place directly after school, during weekday evening or at weekends, at a mutually convenient time. However, we can offer a different lesson plan to suit you, including intensive tutoring during school holidays. In year 11 and 13, lessons can be continued through school holidays if required.

How often do lessons take place?

We provide a very flexible service, with many tutoring options. Some students start having tutoring with us at primary school and stay through to the completion of their education. Others come to us with a list of topics they are struggling with, and just have a series of lessons to address these. Many students book a set of lessons for revision and past paper practice prior to their exams.

However. don't leave it too close to the exam period to contact us as we do get very full, from January onwards.

Where do lessons take place?

Tutoring usually takes place in your own home, this allows the student to feel comfortable and relaxed. However, we do have premises available for tutoring sessions if required. Online tuition is also offered for those who prefer this option, who live further afield or request a specific tutor.

What subjects are offered?

We can provide tutoring in a range of subjects, including maths, English and science, for a range of qualifications from SATS, entrance exams, functional skills. GCSE’s to A’levels. These sessions can be exam focussed with a bias on practicing exam style questions or designed for general knowledge building.

Our Tutors

Our tutors are selected, not only for their subject knowledge but also their ability to interact with students, on a one-to-one basis in a way that makes the student feel at ease. Our tutors are reliable, motivated, helpful and friendly.

Many are sixth formers, on a gap year or at university, this makes them very relatable, accessible, and approachable to the students, as well as inspirational for their future. These tutors have working knowledge of teaching methods, revision techniques and exam question styles. They have a strong academic background, with a proven track record from their own studies. They are mentored by our senior tutor in terms of lesson content, structure and planning. They also have regular review meetings with the senior tutor who will sit in on occasional lessons.

We also have more mature tutors available if this is more suitable for the individual student.
